SIG Mission Statements and Officers

ASIC_FPGA SIG - Mission Statement

Provide a forum to informally discuss issues and problems encountered in ASIC and FPGA design activities and processes among end users, ASIC/FPGA silicon vendors, and Mentor Graphics engineers and suggest possible solutions.

Auto Active SIG - Mission Statement

It is the goal and intention of the Auto Active Special Interest group of the Mentor Users Group to:

  1. Stand as a liaison between the user community and Mentor Graphics Corporation in representing issues concerning the Board Station and Expedition PCB tools.
    1. Bugs/Fixes
    2. Future Enhancements
    3. Tool usage models
  2. Provide a forum for the users to share ideas and usage tips amongst each other.
    1. Design processes/procedures
    2. BKM's (Best known methods)
    3. User created programs/scripts
  3. Other items as deemed appropriate and/or necessary by the user community.

There is a separate email exploder for Board Station and Expedition for online discussion of tool usage and to share ideas and usage tricks. They are:

Design Environment SIG - Mission Statement

The purpose of this SIG is to discuss cross division issues that impact the design environment. First and foremost, outline issues that we believe are pertinent to our present and future licensing needs. Bring known problems to the surface and elect one point of contact to work directly with MGC in bringing successful closure to pertinent issues. Help define current and future Mentor Graphic policies specific to licensing and design environment issues.

Exp_DC SIG - Mission Statement

The goals of the Expedition Design Capture Special Interest Group are to provide a liaison between the DesignCapture / DesignView user community and Mentor Graphics Corporation in representing issues concerning the Expedition Design Capture tool suite, to provide a forum for the users to share ideas and usage tips, and to identify, schedule and execute classes, activities and forums for MUG 2001 in Denver Colorado, and beyond.

University SIG - Mission Statement

The University SIG believes the success of the electronics industry is dependent upon highly skilled engineers. The SIG offers a forum for colleges and universities to share teaching and academic research uses for the Mentor Graphics tools. This is to help insure that engineering graduates enter into industry proficient with state-of-the-art experience and techniques. The focus is on helping members integrate and use the Mentor Graphics tools efficiently within the higher-education environment.
