Meet the new President & Vice President of MUG

DAVID ZAR - MUG President

David M. Zar is a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis where he has been since 1993. His responsibilities include teaching computer and electrical engineering courses as well as system and network administration for the department. He is also works closely with the Mentor Graphics Higher Education Program (HEP) to provide support to member universities and colleges around the world. David has been using the Mentor tools since 1993. He claims to have used every major Mentor tool available since 1993 and even some that have since been removed from the price sheet. David joined MUG in 1994 and has served as University SIG Vice Chair., University SIG Chair., and Chair. of the Program Committee for the MUG conference before talking on his current role as MUG President for the 2000-2001 year.

Steven Herbstman - MUG Vice-President

Steven Herbstman is director of operations for MSL Engineering and Design's PCB service bureau in Massachusetts. He is responsible for directing workflow for 25 PCB designers using three different CAD tool suites. Steve has been in the industry since 1978. Steve became a MUG member through Mentor Graphics acquisition of VeriBest. As a user of the VeriBest products, he was also the president of the VeriBest Users Group - VBUG. Steve looks forward to the VBUG members joining forces with MUG members to bring a unified voice to Mentor Graphics on top user issues.
