Abstract: There are many companies who are creating high Speed Communications systems that contain switch fabric busses that run at 155-200Mhz. Typically these busses are implemented using differential pair technology. Based on our experience implementing these busses for our customers, we will introduce the audience to design concepts behind the electrical (Timing, signal integrity) and layout/routing. We will also describe procedures that can be used within the Mentor suite of routing and SI analysis tools to guarantee the implemented switch fabric will operate at successfully.
