Abstract

What do you need to do to implement effective MCAD/ECAD integration and how can you do so with the IDF? This session will begin with a quick overview of the IDF, the differences in the various versions of the IDF, and a status of implementation by the vendors. Then it will discuss the key process, library, and data exchange issues customers face in using the IDF (or any PCB data exchange standard) to integrate their mechanical and electrical design processes. Issues discussed in the session will be illustrated with actual customer examples.
