Abstract

This presentation shall describe a methodology that I use and how it could be implemented in IC STATION DLA because of its flexibility and how it can be used to create Process Monitoring Control Devices (PMCD) to characterize a new IC process development. I shall talk about a menu driven approach to IC STATION DLA that I personally have used with device level automation in within Mentor Graphics and other Customer sites. It is important to recognize that I am moving to IC STATION DLA after 15 years of writing parameterized layout generator code. Bio

Ronnie Hunt is a custom memory layout designer turned programmer over the years to simplify his work. His goal has been to do away with the job of manual custom layout. SGS Thomson and Texas Instruments have employed him. He has 27 years of growing experience in the design and manufacturing of masks for IC design. He currently works for Mentor Graphics Consulting using IC STATION DLA and other Mentor Graphics tools to retarget layouts of RAM and ROM designs and process characterization (PMCD) aids, which he calls Puzgen. (The simple menu approach and documentation to support it for the layout designer.)
