Abstract

GE Fanuc's electrical design environment is filled with in-process design changes, a growing number of board designers (Engineers and CAD designers) and increasingly complex PWB designs. This environment has created the need for automated software and standardized processes throughout the board layout stage of the design. This presentation will examine some of the ways that GE Fanuc has leveraged Mentor Graphics Boardstation tools to address some of these challenges, including: Custom software development to streamline repetitive tasks and automating tasks to remove variation in the PWB layout process. Included in the presentation, how do I know I need to customize, where do I start and what the some of the process and code look like.
