Switched-capacitor filters are clocked, sampled-data systems. The operation of switched-capacitor filters is based on the ability of on-chip capacitors and MOS switched to simulate resistors. The values of these on-chip capacitors can be closely matched to other capacitors on the IC, resulting in integrated filters whose cutoff frequncies are proportional to, and determined only by, the external clock frequency. This paper presents a method for the analysis of switched-capacitor filters un the frequency and time domains by the use of AccuSim II. It is shown how the switched-capacitor macromodels available as primitives in the Eldo kernel can be used to implement various switched-capacitor networks in AccuSim II. Examples of the simulation of the switched-capacitor networks are also given.
