The Licensing Panel brings together many of the key players involved with Mentor Graphics Licensing. Mike Frison (Mentor's Licensing Director), Chris Burger (Mentor's Director of Worldwide Order Fulfillment), John Wallick (Licensing Support Engineer), and Rich Mirabella (VP of Marketing for GLOBEtrotter Software) will each share their views on the current state of licensing. This will be followed by an extensive period of Q&A where the panel will field questions from the audience.

Bios:

Mr. Frison is the Program Director for Licensing and Installation at Mentor Graphics. Prior to joining the company in 1992, he held a variety of engineering and management positions at Tektronix and Wygant Scientific. He has broad experience gained in such varied occupations as circus acrobat, millwright, and master helmsman on an aircraft carrier. His software experience started in 1969 when he wrote a computer dating service in COBOL to the chagrin of his high school teachers. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.


Mr. Mirabella has more than 15 years experience in the computer industry in sales and marketing management, and has worked on electronic licensing and technologies for software distribution since 1989. Prior to joining GLOBEtrotter, he served as executive vice president at Highland Software, GLOBEtrotter's partner in developing FLEXlm, an electronic licensing technology used in over $30 billion of software. He also served as director of marketing at Sony, Olivetti and General Electric. Mr. Mirabella has been active in computer industry organizations such as the SPA, IETF, OpenGroup, LSAPI, Software Forum and UNIX International. He earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Cooper Union, completed graduate work in applied physics at Stanford University and received an MBA from Harvard.
