Introduction to Perl: A Compliment to AMPLE
Michael Wallace
Mentor Graphics
Most software customization that is done by Mentor Graphics customers usually involves a combination of Mentor's Ample programming language and some other interpreted or compiled computing language such as UNIX shell scripts or C. Although AMPLE is a very powerful language for customizing Mentor Graphics applications, there are times when AMPLE falls short and a second language is required. With it's pattern matching and textual manipulation capabilities, Perl is an excellent language compliment to AMPLE
This presentation will provide an introduction to the Perl language and show examples of how Perl can be used as a compliment to the Mentor Graphics AMPLE language.
