The road to a working concurrent board process has been bumpy, but with WorkXpert's help the road is getting easier to pass. This presentation describes several engineering process improvements being implemented at InFocus utilizing WorkXpert as the high-level GUI. Specifically, this presentation discusses the implementation of WorkXpert to the engineering process improvements.

The PCB Process Toolkit is a WorkXpert implementation of the Concurrent Board Process as described in Randy Hartgrove's white paper. However, much of the functionality described in the white paper has been replaced by Board Architect. The functionality of these two products are brought together under WorkXpert.

The integration of Interconnectix to Design Architect and Board Station under WorkXpert is discussed, as well as an integration to the MRP system via a flexible BOM generation toolset.

Mac Feezor and David Ransier from Intercept Technology Inc.'s Engineering Consulting group are implementing these improvements and will be giving the presentation. Tim Haag from InFocus will be on hand to answer any questions about the process improvement project.

Bio:
David Ransier has been with Intercept Technology Inc.'s Engineering Consulting Group since April, 1997. David was previously with Mentor Graphics for nearly 15 years. Most notably, David was the project lead for GUI development of all Board Station products for about six years followed by six years with MGC's OpenDoor Program and Mentor Consulting.

Mac Feezor has been part of Intercept Technology Inc.'s Engineering Consulting Group since July, 1997. Mac was with Mentor Graphics for nearly nine years where he was the South East Area Board Process Applications Engineer and, for the last three years, providing process improvement solutions with Mentor Consulting.

Mac and David continue to provide consulting services to Mentor Graphics customers.
