VHDL models must be registered with part interfaces to be recognized by simulation tools. It would be desirable to have a search mechanism, similar to that available in AccuSim, by which a user could override the models registered with library components. This paper discussses the Boeing effort to provide this capability, issues that have arisen during that effort and enhancements required to support this technique across model types and simulation tools.
