Holding the Keys to Library Migration

Greg Dance, Terry Muskopf

Corporate investments in libraries and their associated databases can be considerable. For the staff using the data as building blocks, the accuracy and reliability are crucial for as the old adage goes "Garbage in, Garbage out."

Few if any would be concerned with a system where the phrase "Garbage in, Four-Star out" held true. Today's corporate investments can create four-star databases and designs. Will tomorrow's software upgrade take these four-star designs and create garbage out?

Attendees will get an insider's look at the impact on existing designs when library migration occurs and will discover for themselves the missing key that will keep four-star designs from becoming garbage.

This presentation will be of interest to those who create top-level designs, system administrators and departmental managers.
